We are listed on Airbnb, and you can find our listings here: The Point, The Bay, and Porte Haven. However, booking direct here will save you in unnecessary fees. If you’re looking for reviews before booking a stay, check them out right here, and we’d also be happy to talk to you prior to booking to make sure you’re comfortable!

Frequently Asked Questions
We do our absolute best to stock every essential you’re going to need at the cabin to keep your packing list to a minimum! We truly want you to be able to pack your clothes and show up, ready for vacation. A couple weeks before your stay, Jeremy will send you our welcome guide that lists every single thing you will find in the cabin, what to pack, how to get here, how to get in, and everything else you may need to know for your stay!
Our cabins have been so popular from day one and fully book almost a year in advance! We give first priority to the previous year's guests to rebook their date or choose a new one. Then, our email list gets next dibs on dates before we go live to the public. You can join that list right here. After that, we’ll open up dates and share about them on Airbnb, VRBO, and share on social for people to choose the remaining openings. (Hot tip: We’ve had people book a winter weekend so they are on the exclusive “first dibs” list to get in on a summer date.)
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, we allow up to 3 dogs to be added to a reservation. We’re happy you’re bringing your dog with you on vacation! We’re strong believers in not leaving our buddies home from a trip to the lake and hope to be able to continue to do so for our guests! In order to be able to do this, we need all our guests to do their part as part of a good neighbor agreement we have with local residents of Door County and our neighbors.
We currently allow up to 3 dogs for a fee of $150/pet. Please make sure to include an accurate dog count on your booking so we do not need to contact you at the time of arrival at the cabin if you have more pets than were listed. Dogs do incur more cleaning and wear and tear on the cabins and it’s important we know how many are on site for us to continue to be able to offer this amenity.
Please also be sure to:
-bring a crate if you plan to leave your dog at the cabin while venturing out to help them feel safe and not bark while you’re away and disturb neighbors. Note that Door County is dog friendly, so consider bringing them with you when you leave!
-if your dog does not stay near you and on the property, please keep them leashed so they don’t venture into a neighbors yard
-be sure to pick up all waste from your dog before leaving
Allowing dogs is something we love to offer our guests and with your help, we’ll be able to continue to do so. Thank you, we truly appreciate it!
Unfortunately, we have to say no to all events at our cabins. We aren’t able to allow groups other than those listed as staying at the cabin to visit the premises for an event. We’re happy to recommend some really great places in the area that host events; just let us know!
Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
We understand budget restrictions, but no, we aren’t able to reduce rates to be fair to our other guests. Keep an eye on our dates, though, as certain times of year are more affordably priced than others!
Frequently Asked Questions
Because we book out almost a year in advance, we are often asked what our cancellation policy is. Guests are offered travel insurance at the time of booking by a 3rd party vendor which is an option if they are concerned about making their dates. Further, our cancellation policy states:
In the event Guests wishes to terminate this agreement, Travel Insurance, Damage Protection and any processing or administrative fees are non-refundable. Eighty percent of the base rental amount will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. If the cancellation is made within 30 days of the arrival date, the base rental amount will not be refunded.
You guys book out a year in advance, how can I get secure a date?
We value our guests that come back year after year and have become more like friends than strangers over the years! Because of this, we give the current year guests the ability to rebook their same date and same cabin first before our calendar opens up to anyone else.
Next priority is given to all past approved guests to be able to stay with us again. Approved guests are those that were rated well by our cleaners and adhered to all of our rules and guidelines.
After that we open up any remaining dates to our email subscribers. You can get on that waitlist right here and this is where we also communicate booking dates and times to make sure you’re able to have the best chance at securing a stay at the Door County Cabin Collective. One strategy guests have used in the past is to book a shoulder season weekend stay (spring/winter) so that they are on the earlier booking date as a past guest! Our calendar for the upcoming year generally opens in mid August.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is important that you include the correct number of guests on your reservation so we can charge appropriately. This is common in hotels and other lodging accommodations because more guests mean more wear and tear on our cabins, the septic system, additional cleaning, supplies, additional laundry and linens, etc. Due to strict rules from the county regarding occupancy at our cabins, we do monitor how many guests arrive at check-in with a ring camera as our renting license is at stake if more are on the property than what was listed at the time of booking. Please make sure your group size is accurate and update us if there is a change in the number of guests coming so we do not need to contact you at the time of arrival during your stay if there is a discrepancy.
Frequently Asked Questions
We are not able to accommodate parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties or weddings of any size at our cabins. It’s our desire to be good neighbors and adhere to a good neighbor policy which includes strict quiet hours, no additional people on the property that are not on the reservation, and our cabins are better suited for family gatherings.
Frequently Asked Questions
One of the house rules is a 10PM quiet time. Neighbors are close on the lake and sound travels over the water so it’s something we’ve committed to communicating with our guests to ensure everyone has a great time!
Frequently Asked Questions
We love the people around us that choose to make Door County their home (many are our family members!) and aim to be good neighbors and ask our guests to abide by a few policies throughout their stay to not disturb those that live close to our cabin. You can read about the policies that are also included in our renters agreement here.
Frequently Asked Questions
The short answer is yes and we have enjoyed swimming there often! However, Lake Michigan is very unpredictable. Sometimes it can be very still and great swimming conditions, but the next moment there could be huge waves. In either event, please respect the undertow. If you do choose to go swimming, please make sure each person is a strong swimmer. You’ll just have to make a judgement call based on current conditions.
If you have little kids we would recommend going down to the beach by the ferry or renting one of our cabins on Clark Lake instead (The Point or The Bay).
