From waterfront concerts and brewery patios to winery nights and outdoor stages, these are the spots for live music in Door County that we plan our summers around.
When I was 14, my friends and I were absolutely obsessed with The Wallflowers.
So when they announced they were coming to Milwaukee, 10 of us piled into two moms’ minivans and headed downtown for our very first concert. I still remember screaming every lyric, swaying arm-in-arm with my best friends, and being absolutely devastated when our strict 10:00 curfew forced us to leave before the encore. We missed “One Headlight”. There were tears.
Apparently, some memories never really leave you.
Because when I saw The Wallflowers were coming to Door Community Auditorium this summer as part of their 30-year reunion tour and they were playing the exact set list we screamed our way through as teenagers — I immediately texted my friends: “WE HAVE TO GO, RIGHT?!”
It took me a second to process the fact that yes, somehow, it really has been 30 years.
But honestly? There’s something kind of perfect about reliving that memory in Door County, my favorite place in the world to spend a summer night.
Because live music just feels different here.
Maybe it’s the outdoor patios. The waterfront sunsets. The wineries and beer gardens and nights where nobody’s in a rush to leave. But some of our favorite Door County memories haven’t come from packed itineraries or major attractions. They’ve come from lingering outside while music drifts through the air, sharing drinks with friends, dancing in the rain, or stumbling onto a concert we end up talking about for years afterward.
And when I’m helping guests plan their trips, live music is usually one of the very first things I look up.
Because once you know where the music is happening, the rest of the evening tends to fall into place. Dinner reservations, sunset stops, one more drink somewhere outside, maybe even a slow drive home with the windows down.
That’s the kind of Door County night people remember.
So if live music is part of your ideal Door County summer too, here are the spots I personally recommend again and again.
10 Best Places for Live Music in Door County This Summer
1. Door Community Auditorium
Best for: Planning a whole trip around a concert
This is one of Door County’s biggest hidden gems. For such a small peninsula, the lineup that comes through here is honestly kind of wild. Over the years, they’ve hosted artists like Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, The Lumineers, Indigo Girls, Melissa Etheridge, and The Beach Boys. And, if you’re in the know, you can build an entire weekend around a show here. This is where I’ll be enjoying the sold-out Wallflowers concert this June.
The venue itself feels intimate in the best way. There really isn’t a bad seat in the house.
Pair it with: Dinner in Fish Creek at Barringers before the show and a slow drive back to your cabin afterward.
Pro tip: Sign up for their emails immediately. Big shows sell out FAST. (like in minutes)

2. Stabbur Beer Garden
Best for: One of those summer nights you talk about forever
If there’s one place that immediately feels like summer in Door County to me, it’s this.
Rooftop dinner at Chop followed by live music and dancing down the street at the Stabbur Beer Garden is basically a Door County rite of passage at this point. This is where we celebrated my 40th birthday and ended up dancing in the rain with friends while the band played. Truly one of my core memories.
It somehow manages to feel lively without losing that relaxed Door County energy.
Pair it with: A sunset rooftop dinner reservation at Chop before the music starts.
Pro tip: Check the band schedule ahead of time and make dinner reservations early in peak summer.

3. Peach Barn Brewing
Best for: A laid-back pre-dinner stop
This place has become one of my favorite recommendations because it’s so easy to work into a summer evening.
Live music almost every single day of summer from 3–6 PM makes it the perfect transition from beach day to dinner reservations. The vibe is casual, welcoming, and easy in the best way.
Pair it with: Dinner reservations at Waterfront timed for sunset after the show.
Pro tip: Arrive early enough to settle in with a drink before the music starts.

4. Door County Brewing Company
Best for: Wasting away an entire summer afternoon
This one always makes my list because there’s just so much else to do besides the music.
Board games, food trucks, local brews, a huge outdoor space — it’s the kind of place where you show up for “a quick stop” and suddenly realize three hours have passed.
It works equally well for couples, groups, and families.
Pair it with: An afternoon brewery stop before heading to dinner at Chives (fancy) or Inland (best pizza in Door County).
Pro tip: Check their music schedule ahead of time because summer weekends can get busy.

5. Simon Creek Vineyard
Best for: Wine, sunshine, and slow summer evenings
If winery patios and acoustic music are your thing, this is your spot.
The outdoor setting here is beautiful, and between the wine, cocktails, bourbon, beer, and create-your-own charcuterie boards, it’s very easy to lose track of time.
This feels like the kind of place where vacation mode officially kicks in.
Pair it with: A late afternoon wine tasting that rolls naturally into dinner afterward at our favorite supper club: Donny’s Glidden Lodge.
Pro tip: Their outdoor music nights are popular in peak summer, so arrive early for the best patio seating.

Blankets. Firepits. Wine. Live music. Honestly, what else do you need?
This place feels intimate and warm in a way that’s perfect for cooler Door County evenings.
Pair it with: Dinner next door at Thyme. Your entire night is basically planned for you.
Pro tip: Bring a jacket even in summer because the best Door County nights tend to cool off once the sun goes down.

7. Woodwalk Gallery
Best for: A uniquely Door County evening
This is one of my favorite places to recommend in general, but especially for live music.
The combination of concerts, art gallery spaces, workshops, farm-to-table dinners, and outdoor seating creates such a special atmosphere. It feels creative, thoughtful, and distinctly Door County.
They have a bar to grab a drink to enjoy during the concert and you’re welcome to bring your own picnic, which somehow makes the whole experience feel even more charming.
Pair it with: A slower evening where the concert itself is the plan.
Pro tip: Keep an eye on their event calendar because they host a wide variety of experiences throughout the season.

Waterfront park. Sunset. Lawn chairs. Music drifting across the bay.
Say less.
Their Wednesday night summer concert series feels like peak Door County summer and is such an easy addition to a family vacation itinerary.
Pair it with: Takeout picnic dinner and goats milk ice cream from Door County Creamery and a sunset walk along the waterfront.

9. Sway Brewing + Blending
Best for: People who appreciate the details
Everything here feels intentional.
From the small-batch brewing process and locally sourced ingredients to the creative food menu and warm hospitality, James Beard-nominated Sway just feels elevated without trying too hard.
The live music is almost the bonus feature, but somehow it’s what takes the entire experience over the top.
Pair it with: Dinner there. Trust me.
Pro tip: This is a great choice for couples or smaller groups looking for a slower, more elevated evening.

10. One Barrel Brewing Company
Best for: The kind of traditions that become part of summer
Every Fourth of July, without fail, we end up here before fireworks.
Pizza Bros. on the patio, live music playing outside, and one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life: the white sauce mushroom truffle goat cheese pizza that I literally dream about.
This is one of those places that feels easy and joyful and exactly what summer should feel like.
Pair it with: Fireworks afterward if you’re visiting over the Fourth of July.
Pro tip: Don’t skip the pizza. Seriously.
